Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Brea, California

1. What garage door repair services do you offer in Brea?

Day & Nite Doors provides complete garage door repair services in Brea, including broken spring replacement, cable repairs, roller replacement, off-track door repairs, damaged panel replacement, garage door opener repairs, sensor adjustments, and general troubleshooting for residential garage doors.

2. How do I know if my garage door needs professional repair?

Common signs include loud grinding or squeaking noises, slow operation, the door becoming stuck, uneven movement, broken springs or cables, damaged panels, or a garage door opener that no longer responds consistently. If you notice any of these issues, it’s best to schedule a professional inspection before the problem worsens.

3. Do you offer emergency garage door repair in Brea?

Yes. We understand that garage door problems can happen unexpectedly and may affect your home’s security. Our technicians provide prompt repair services to restore your garage door’s safe and reliable operation as quickly as possible.

4. Can you repair all brands of garage doors and openers?

Yes. Our experienced technicians service most major garage door and opener manufacturers. Whether you have a traditional chain-drive opener, belt-drive system, wall-mounted opener, or custom garage door, we have the expertise to diagnose and repair the problem.

5. How often should I have my garage door serviced?

We recommend scheduling professional garage door maintenance at least once a year. Annual inspections help identify worn parts early, improve performance, extend the life of your garage door system, and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns.

6. Is it better to repair or replace my garage door?

The right choice depends on the age of the door, the extent of the damage, and repair costs. Minor issues such as broken springs, rollers, cables, or opener problems can usually be repaired. If your garage door has extensive structural damage or is nearing the end of its lifespan, replacement may be the more cost-effective option.

7. Do you install new garage doors in Brea?

Absolutely. We offer professional garage door installation with a wide selection of styles, materials, colors, and insulation options to complement your home’s appearance while improving security, energy efficiency, and curb appeal.

8. What causes garage door springs to break?

Garage door springs wear out over time through normal opening and closing cycles. Rust, lack of maintenance, temperature changes, and heavy daily use can shorten their lifespan. Replacing worn springs promptly helps prevent additional damage to your garage door system.

9. Can a malfunctioning garage door opener be repaired?

In many cases, yes. Problems involving motors, gears, remotes, keypads, sensors, or circuit boards can often be repaired without replacing the entire opener. Our technicians will inspect the system and recommend the most cost-effective solution.

About Brea, California

Brea is a city in northern Orange County, California, United States. Its name comes from the Spanish word for tar. As of the 2020 census, the population was 47,325. Located 25 miles (40 km) southeast of Los Angeles, Brea is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
The city began as a center of crude oil production and was later propelled by citrus production. Today it is a significant retail center, home to the Carbon Canyon Dam, Carbon Canyon Regional Park, Brea Mall, and downtown Brea. The city also has an extensive public art program, begun in 1975, with over 140 artworks placed throughout the city.
The area was originally part of the homelands of the Tongva, who lived there for thousands of years before European contact. The Tongva established extensive routes for travel and trade between their villages and with neighboring Indigenous nations. The closest known village site to present-day Brea is Hutuknga.
Europeans first arrived on July 29, 1769, when the Spanish Portolá expedition—the first Europeans to see inland parts of Alta California—camped in Brea Canyon near a large native village and a small pool of clean water. The village of Olinda was founded in present-day Carbon Canyon at the beginning of the 19th century, drawing entrepreneurs in search of “black gold” (petroleum).
Most of Brea’s current city borders lay within the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana. After the territory passed to the United States in 1848, the ranchos declined as rigorous title-proving processes enacted in 1851 and a drought in 1860 led most owners to sell their land.
Agriculture took hold in northern Orange County in the 1880s, particularly Valencia oranges, which grew better in the cool foothills. The Santa Fe Railroad and local oil discoveries created conditions that protected the crop from winter frost: nearby oil fields supplied a process called “smudging,” which caused a grimy fog to settle over the area and reportedly created health issues for workers.
In 1894, landowner Abel Stearns sold 1,200 acres (4.9 km²) west of Olinda to the newly created Union Oil Company of California, and by 1898 wooden oil drilling towers dotted the nearby hills over the newly discovered Brea-Olinda Oil Field. In 1908, the village of Randolph, named for railway engineer Epes Randolph, was founded just south of Brea Canyon for oil workers and their families. Baseball legend Walter Johnson grew up in Olinda at the start of the 20th century, working in the surrounding oil fields.
Olinda and Randolph grew and merged as the economy boomed. On January 19, 1911, the town’s map was filed under the new name of Brea, from the Spanish word for natural asphalt (also called bitumen, pitch, or tar). With a population of 752, Brea was incorporated on February 23, 1917, as the eighth city of Orange County.
As oil production declined, agriculture expanded, especially lemon and orange groves. In the 1920s, the Brea Chamber of Commerce promoted the city with the slogan “Oil, Oranges, and Opportunity.”
By 1950, Brea’s population had reached 3,208, an increase of 641 over the previous decade. Citrus groves gradually gave way to industrial parks and residential development. In 1956, Carl N. Karcher opened the first two Carl’s Jr. restaurants in Anaheim and Brea. The opening of the Orange Freeway (57) and the Brea Mall in the 1970s spurred further residential growth, including large planned developments east of the freeway in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.
In the late 1990s, a 50-acre (200,000 m²) swath of downtown Brea centered on Brea Boulevard and Birch Street was redeveloped into a shopping and entertainment district with movie theaters, sidewalk cafes, a live comedy club from The Improv chain, numerous shops and restaurants, and a weekly farmers’ market. Known locally as Downtown Brea, the area opened in 2000.

I don’t typically write a lot of reviews, but I had to write this one. We had garage doors put in by Oscar At Day And Night Garage and his professionalism and follow through was amazing. It is so hard to find good people that take pride in their work these days and Oscar definitely does all of that. I could not be happier with my garage doors and especially the service.

I had a great front-to-back experience with Day & Nite Doors and would highly recommend them if you need service or installation for a garage door. Maria was great to work with and communicated well with me about installation scheduling details. The installation technicians were efficient, professional, and left everything looking better than when they arrived. I’m very happy with my experience and will use them again if anything every comes up with these new doors. Thank you, Day & Nite!
